The Doctors: Natural Cleaner Recipes

The Doctors TV Show gave some great Natural House Cleaner Recipes today.  All you need to clean your house are simple, everyday pantry items like white vinegar, lemons and rubbing alcohol.  So why expose your family, friends and pets to harsh chemicals found in household cleaners that you buy at the store?  And why spend so much extra money when you could just make these cleaners at home for next to nothing???  Here are the recipes:

The Doctors: Spray Cleaner Recipe

Mix the following ingredients together in a spray bottle:

The Doctors Natural Cleaner Solutions

1 cup white vinegar
1 cup water

The Doctors: Glass Cleaner Recipe

Mix the following ingredients together in your favorite spray bottle:
1 cup rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol
1 cup water
1 tbsp white vinegar

The Doctors TV: Strong Glass Cleaner Recipe

For an even stronger glass cleaner, mix the following ingredients together in a spray bottle:
1 cup rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol
1 cup water
1 tbsp clear, non-sudsing ammonia

The Doctors: All-Purpose Cleaner Recipe

Mix the following list of ingredients together in a spray bottle:
1 tbsp clear, non-sudsing ammonia
1 tbsp clear laundry detergent
2 cups water

The Doctors TV: Snowflake Face Mask

The Doctors TV Show gave some great winter weather skin protection tips and home remedies on today’s show.  The Drs spoke about a Peppermint Foot Bath, a White Russian Hand Treatment and (the one that excites me the most) a Snowflake Facial!  You can read a full recap of all of these winter weather remedies at the following link: Snowflake Facial.  The Doctors promised to publish a Snowflake Facial Recipe on their website so that we could try it at home for less than it would cost to go to the Sonya Dakar Skin Clinic.  However, The Doctors do not seem to have the information posted yet.  So I did some research and found information on how to make the Snowflake Facial at home!  Here is how:

said that the ingredients in the Snowflake Facial come from a Summer Snowflake Plant (so for everyone thinking that this has something to do with winter white snow, you are mistaken… just like I was originally!).  Here are the steps:

1.  Apply the Sonya Dakar Flash Facial

2.  After removing the facial, apply the Sonya Dakar Stem Cell Transformer, which will extend the effects of your facial so that it lasts all day.

Dr Oz gave several simple, inexpensive Beauty Remedies on his show today that he said can help to take 10 years off of your face.  One of the areas he covered was a Fine Line and Wrinkle Home Remedy.  Manuka Honey is used in hospitals to treat wounds that have trouble healing, and the very same ingredient can help to reduce the appearance of your fine lines and wrinkes!  Here is how you do the Home Remedy:

Dr Oz: Manuka Honey Facial

Ingredients: 

- Manuka Honey

Dr Oz: Wrinkle Remedy

Directions:

1.  To exfoliate your skin, apply a layer of Manuka Honey onto your face.

2.  Let the Manuka Honey sit for 10-20 minutes.

3.  Wash your face off with lukewarm water.

4.  Follow-up with a moisturizer.

Dr Oz gave several simple, inexpensive Beauty Remedies on his show today that he said can help to take 10 years off of your face.  One of the areas he covered was a Chapped Lips Remedy.  Instead of using oils and products to cure your Chapped Lips that can block your pores, all you need is a bit of sugar and Sweet Almond Oil!  Here is how you do the Home Remedy:

Dr Oz: Chapped Lip Scrub

Ingredients:

- 1 TB Sweet Almond Oil

- 1 TB Sugar

Dr Oz: Almond Oil Lip Scrub

Directions:

1.  Mix together equal parts of Sweet Almond Oil and white sugar (such as 1 TB of each).

2.  Apply the Almond Oil Scrub to your lips with a toothbrush.

3.  Repeat over several days until your Chapped Lips are cured!

Dr Oz gave several simple, inexpensive Beauty Remedies on his show today that he said can help to take 10 years off of your face.  One of the areas he covered was a Dull Skin Remedy.  You can brighten up your skin with something that you likely already have in your medicine cabinet – Pepto Bismol!  Here is how you do it:

Dr Oz: Pepto Bismol Facial

Ingredients:

- Pepto Bismol

- Cotton Balls

Dr Oz: Pepto Bismol Remedy

Directions:

1.  Soak a cotton ball in Pepto Bismol.

2.  Apply a layer of Pepto Bismol to the skin on your face.

3.  Let the Pepto Bismol dry for 10 minutes.

4.  Peel off the face mask.

5.  Wash your face with lukewarm water.

Dr Oz: Ginger Exfoliating Scrub

Dr Oz did a segment on the amazing power of ginger, because ginger has been used in Chinese and Indian medicine for centuries.  You can drink Ginger Tea, which is of course great for your body because it helps to improve your circulation, reduces your LDL Cholesterol (the bad kind of cholesterol), and can help with an upset stomach, nausea and indigestion.  However, did you know that ginger can also make your skin glow?  Doctor Oz gave a great home remedy – a Ginger Scrub – that will exfoliate your skin and even help to protect it against free radicals that the sun exposes you to.

Dr Oz: Ginger Scrub Remedy

Ingredients:

1 TB chopped Ginger

4 ounces Epsom Salt

1 TB Lime Juice

Dr Oz: Ginger Antioxidant Exfoliator

Directions:

1.  Combine all of the ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl.

2.  Microwave the mixture until it is warm, but not so hot that it will burn your skin.

3.  Scrub the Ginger Exfoliator all over your skin.

4.  Rinse with warm water.

5.  Voila! Glowing, protected, smooth, healthy skin!

Dr Oz brought on two women who had Home Remedies they swear by.  The first woman had a Hair Home Remedy to moisturize your hair with beer, coffee grinds and excessive brushing – but Doctor Oz said that it does not work.  The second lady though had a Joint Pain Home Remedy that involves garlic, honey, turmeric and milk which Dr Oz said does work!  Why does this Joint Home Remedy work?  Because all of the ingredients are great for treating inflammation because of their anti-inflammatory properties.

Dr Oz: Potion For Motion

Ingredients:

1 clove garlic, crushed

1 TB honey

1 cup of milk

turmeric

Dr Oz: Joint Pain Home Remedy

Directions:

1.  Put the clove of crushed garlic on a spoon along with the 1 TB of honey and eat it.

2.  Next, mix some turmeric (it looked like a couple tablespoons) into a glass of milk, and drink it.

While this does not sound delicious, and Dr Oz’s face sure did not make it seem like he enjoyed the taste, if you have pain in your joints then this Home Remedy is definitely worth a shot!

The Doctors TV Show did a show on the Latest Health Trends in 2011 and they included some hot, emerging spa treatments in what they called Trend Spa.  One of the Hair Remedies that was mentioned on The Drs TV Show was a recipe for a Caviar Hair Treatment.  Dr Andrew Ordon said that Black Caviar is great because it is full of omega 3’s – like many fish products.  Plus, olive oil and eggs are always wonderful Natural Conditioners for your hair.

The Doctors: Caviar Hair Treatment Recipe

Ingredients:

-          Black Caviar

-          Olive Oil

-          Egg

The Doctors: Caviar Hair Mask Recipe

Directions:

1.        Mix together the Black Caviar, olive oil, and egg.

2.       Apply the mixture to your hair.

3.       Relax while the Caviar Hair Treatment soaks into your hair.

4.       Shampoo and condition your hair to remove the hair mask and to reveal gorgeous, soft, shiny hair!

The Doctors: Kitty Litter Face Mask Recipe

Ingredients:

-          2 TB Kitty Litter

-          Water

The Doctors: Kitty Litter Facial Recipe

Directions:

1.       Place 2 TB of Kitty Litter with a little water into a microwave safe bowl.

2.       Microwave the mixture for around 10 seconds.

3.       Apply the liquid only to your face.  You do not want to use the actual kitty litter portion of the mixture, especially if you have sensitive skin, because it can be harsh.

4.       Leave the Kitty Litter Face Mask on for 10 – 15 minutes.

5.       Wash your face and follow-up with a moisturizer.

The Doctors said that you can do a Kitty Litter Face Mask once or twice a week, unless you have dry skin in which case you should probably avoid the Kitty Litter Facial altogether.

Dr Oz did an entire show called $5 Friday to give everyone tons of tips for how to improve our lives for just $5.  Dr Oz was joined by Holly Carter, People StyleWatch’s Beauty Director, to talk about how to spend $5 to Look 5 Years Younger!  One of the things that Doctor Oz and Holly Carter mentioned was a wonderful $5 Facial that is anti-aging and great for tightening skin.  The egg whites in the face mask contain something called prolene which helps to build collagen in your skin.  Plus, the carrot juice is packed with beta carotene which acts like a retinol and has super anti-aging properties.  This is exactly why Natural Remedies are the way to go – forget those $100+ beauty product gimmicks!

Dr Oz: $5 Friday Facial Recipe

Ingredients:

- 3 egg whites

- 3 TB carrot juice

Dr Oz: $5 Face Mask Recipe: Egg White & Carrot Juice Mask

Directions:

1.  Mix together the three egg whites with the 3 TB of carrot juice.  In the future, if you find that this makes too much face mask, you can easily decrease it by an egg white and 1 TB of carrot juice.

2.  Apply the $5 Face Mask to your skin with either a cotton wipe or a clean makeup brush.

3.  Let the $5 Facial soak into your skin for about 15 minutes.  When the face mask starts to get dry and flaky, you will know that it is ready to be washed off.

4.  Wash off the $5 Face Mask and follow up with a moisturizer.

Dr Oz’s assistant said that the $5 Facial felt very cooling and smelled great!
