Homemade MAC Fix + Makeup Setting Spray DIY Recipe Under $5

How to Make Makeup Setting Spray

Makeup setters are one way cosmetics companies keep you coming back for more. They make a product that slips off your face super easily and then they sell you a makeup setter that costs double what it should. Then when you run out, you have to buy more or the makeup you are wearing could be running down your face at any time of the day.

It is possible to make your own homemade makeup setter though. It is a great product that can also be used to make your hair shine or it can make your face powder less dull so it doesn’t look like you have to much makeup on.

Homemade Makeup Setter Recipe

In an effort to help you save some money, check out the homemade makeup setter recipe below.

Homemade MAC Fix + Makeup Setting Spray DIY Recipe Under $5

Makeup setting sprays are great for the summer time when it is impossible to keep your makeup on but you don’t have to buy it. Make it with 2 ingredients.

Homemade Makeup Setter Ingredients

  • 1 cup pure Glycerin
  • 3 cups Filtered Water
  • Essential Oil for smell (optional)

Homemade Makeup Setter Directions

  1. Mix the glycerin with the water and store in a spray bottle or water bottle.

Depending on your type of skin, from oily to dry, you may need to add more or less water and glycerin. If you have oily skin, try a mostly water recipe or if you have dry skin, try adding only two cups of water instead of three.

There are other products you can add to the recipe above to make it work even better:

  • Rubbing alcohol – If the product is too sticky, rubbing alcohol will make it less sticky.
  • Witch Hazel oil – This product also helps stop the stickiness.

The best part about the entire recipe is you should be able to make a gallon of the product for under $5.
