Natural Sunblock Bars Vs Tropical SPF Liquid
As a kid, shopping for sunscreen was always exciting. My parents told me what to look for—high SPF, waterproof—and then I snagged the prettiest bottle on the shelf. These days, everything that my parents taught me about sunblock has flown out the window. There’s no such thing as waterproof—years of sunburn central taught me that—and I need to wear sunscreen every day. That means going through bottles upon bottles of sensitive skin, SPF 15+, moisturizing but oil-free sunblock.

What’s the easiest way to protect your skin without the mess of a sunscreen? Sunscreen bars are super easy to make and give you all the protection you need.
Another thing I learned from recipes will do the trick!

- Pour this into a mold and refrigerate to harden.
You can also add in shea butter for moisturizing effects, along with cocoa butter or mango butter. Try this recipe out with different scents and different molds. Ikea makes a really excellent silicon ice tray and they come in fun shapes. You could make them in hearts for a girlfriend’s gift or in shark shapes for the little kids.
Sun Protection Diet
A lot of those ingredients are safe enough to eat. That got me thinking, what would you have to eat to make your skin more protected from the sun. Easy, avoid processed foods, vegetable oils, grains and sugars. Eat more healthy saturated fats, Omega-3s, leafy greens, and two or more tablespoons of tomato paste a day. Eating this anti-inflammatory diet will keep your skin healthy during the summer and help other bodily functions.
