Polish Chrome with Baby Oil or Diet Cola
Is the chrome on your car looking a bit worn, dull or scratched? Don’t spend your money on expensive cleaners. All you need is some baby oil or a can of Coca Cola (can you imagine what Coke must do to the inside of your stomach?!?!).
If you have some chrome on your car, or anywhere in your house for that matter, that needs to be cleaned, dump some Diet Coke on the chrome and then use foil to scrub away the dirt.
If you don’t have any diet cola laying around, try some baby oil. If you need to clean some chrome, dab some baby oil on a cotton ball and start scrubbing.
Flour Cleans Stainless Steel and Brass
Flour is the one thing you would never think to use to clean something, but it can be used for a lot more than just cooking.
Do you have a piece of stainless steel you want to shine? First you will want to clean off the stainless steel, which will leave you with matte finish. To get that shine, dump some flour, any amount, onto the steel and start scrubbing away. Within minutes, the steel should be shining.
Just think, you get a shiny sink and you are being environmentally aware by not using harsh chemicals.
But what if you are more a brass person? Flour can help you too. If you want your brass to shine, mix salt, white vinegar and flour together until you get a type of paste. Now rub the paste all over the brass, let it sit all night, and wash it off in the morning.
Baking Soda Shines Brass
Remember the baking soda you used to unclog your drains? That same bit of baking soda can be used to bring silver back to life. Just put your silver in a pot of boiling water with some baking soda and watch the silver shine. The best part is this method will have your silver looking new for a long time, as opposed to the silver cleaners, which will tarnish your silver after a few years of use.
Banana Peel Polishes Shoes
If boiling water is too much of hassle, which is can be at times, use a banana peel to shine your silver, and if your shoes are in need of a good shine as well, you can use the peel as a sort of cloth to shine your shoes.
The newer the banana, the better it works, but an old banana will still work.
Aluminum Foil Cleans Grill Quick
Cleaning your grill can be hassle sometimes, but not if you have some aluminum foil. After all the food is done cooking, lay a piece of aluminum foil over the grill and let the food cook off the grill. The next time you grill, crumple up the foil and wipe away the grime on your grill. This is a great way to clean the grill because it doesn’t involve any chemicals and you can be sure nothing dangerous to consume has touched your grill.
