Today Show: Travel Hacks
Traveling can often be a lot of fun, but sometimes things get stressful. You can take some of the pressure off yourself by packing to prevent spills and other mishaps when you arrive at your destination. Today Show shared tips from Conde Nast Traveler contributing editor Mark Ellwood.

You don’t want your lotion or shampoo to be leaking all over your clothes and other items in your suitcase. But what can you do to stop this? Unscrew the lid from the bottle. Place a small piece of plastic wrap over the opening and then twist the cap back into place. This will create a seal to prevent spills or leaks.
Today Show: Recycle Shopping Bags To Pack Sneakers
No one wants the potentially dirty bottoms of shoes touching their clean clothes. To prevent this, recycle a plastic shopping bag to wrap up your shoes, keeping the nearby clothes clean and tidy. Then place the bag at the bottom of your suitcase to help your bag distribute the weight, making it easier to carry.
Today Show: Use a Belt To Protect Your Shirt Collar
Fold a collared shirt and then loop your belt around the shape of the collar to prevent it from getting crushed or wrinkled during travel. Then you shouldn’t have to iron when you arrive at your destination.
What about books? Not everyone has an e-reader. If you are traveling with multiple books, don’t stack them together. This will look like an empty space when your bag is X-rayed, making it more likely to be hand-searched. Instead, arrange them in flat layers among your clothes.
Today Show: Contact Lens Case for Beauty Products
Since there are restrictions on the amount of liquids you can have in your carry-on bag, it can be a challenge to travel with all the beauty products you want. Mark suggested washing out an old contact lens case and using this to carry small amounts of some of your products.
Here are a few more bonus tips. Use cotton balls to prevent face powder from cracking. Protect your razor from getting dull or cutting other items by placing a binder clip over the blade. Store earrings and other small items in a pill case.
Today Show: Beach + Picnic Travel Hacks
Use a fitted sheet and air mattress to stake your claim on the beach. Mark also suggested freezing water balloons and using them as ice packs in your cooler. Then let them melt before having fun with them after your picnic.
Today Show: How To Hide Your Cell Phone & Keys
How do you prevent thieves from targeting your car or belongings? You can hide your cell phone in plain sight by wrapping it in a clean diaper. Just make sure some well-meaning person doesn’t mistake it for trash.
You can also rinse out a sunscreen bottle and use it as a hiding place for keys. Stash some cash in a Chap Stick holder.
Today Show: Keep Kids Organized in the Car
How do you keep kids occupied and organized during a car trip? Mark’s idea here was to hang a plastic shoe organizer over the back of the seat, using it to sort and store toys and snacks. Plus, you can use a plastic cereal dispenser as a temporary trash can.
